Creative Labs 70PF244309111 Review by Love Shoes "Kayebee"

I use this everyday in my car on the way to work and after a couple of months (2-3)it started to wear. First it was the sound, within a single song the volume would go up and down. Now I cant even get a song to play its like the jack that the headphones of Aux cable goes into stretches out and since it is no longer a snug fit, the music if it does come out is choppy. The last two Zen I had were perfect and lasted much longer...this one is terrible. Not worth it!

I purchased the Zen Mozaic EZ300 to replace my older Zen Mozaic after I broke the screen. I loved my older Zen. When it broke I wanted to replace it with the same model. I though EZ series was it. I was wrong! The Zen Mozaic EZ300 is very buggy and horrible compared to the older version of the Zen Mozaic.

To List some of the bugs I (and others) have founded:
1.) You need to have your mp3 ID3 tag as version 2.3 (Note: the current ID3 tag version is 2.4), or the player will not read all the track info. (i.e., If you use the most current ID3 tag version, then you will get unknown artist, unknown album, track#--)

2.) I needed to reformat the player because it was freezing during the library rebuild.

3.) The player is not too friendly with playlists.

All I can say is that I wish I never broke the screen on my old Zen. Now, I might go to the dark side and buy an iPhone.

I have used Creative players for several years. I researched customer reviews on Amazon before I decided to purchase the Zen Mosaic EZ300 MP3 player. This model does not have a hold button. One of the buttons, the rewind button would stick when I was navigating the menus, so it would kick me out of a chosen menu into the level above, repeatedly. This player would crash at least once a day and need to be reset. Finally, it would not reset, so I performed the infamous reboot command. Nothing! So I tried reformat. Nothing! Only to find out this Creative product is not supported on a Windows 7 platform! Windows 7 has been around for three years. My first Creative MP3 player was not Windows 7 compatible, so I purchased my second Creative player, which crashed permanently in the 13th month of use.
I returned the Zen Mosaic player to Amazon after only three weeks. May it Rest in Peace. I purchased a Sandisk Zip clip and love it so far.
